Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By installing, signing into, or using the ScentCast mobile application (“the App”) or this website, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App or website. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or legal guardian agree on your behalf.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use. The App and website remain the property of ScentCast.

You may not: reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the App; resell, sublicense, or distribute the App; remove proprietary notices; or use the App in any way that violates applicable law.

3. Account

You need an account to use the App. You agree to provide accurate sign-up information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately at privacy@getscentcast.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Subscriptions and payments

ScentCast offers an optional paid subscription, ScentCast Premium. Available plans, prices, and any introductory free-trial periods are shown in the App before you confirm purchase. Current plans:

• Weekly — auto-renewing weekly subscription. No introductory free trial.
• Yearly — auto-renewing annual subscription with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.

How billing works. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) on iOS and Google (Play Store) on Android. Your chosen plan automatically renews at the end of each period at the price displayed at purchase, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial. The first paid period begins immediately after the trial ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial — if you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

Cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your platform store: App Store → Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Play Store → Subscriptions. You can also reach the platform's subscription page from the App.

Refunds. Refunds are governed by the platform store's policies. ScentCast cannot directly refund a platform purchase.

Restoring purchases. If you re-install the App or sign into a new device, tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall or profile screen to recover an active subscription tied to your Apple ID or Google account.

Price changes. We may change prices for new periods. We will notify you in-app before any change takes effect, and you may cancel before the next renewal if you do not agree.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or abuse our infrastructure (rate limits, brute force, bot signups, etc.).
• Impersonate another person or sign up with someone else's email.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the App or website.
• Attempt to bypass paid features or platform billing.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice when necessary to protect the service or other users.

6. Recommendations are guidance, not advice

The App's daily recommendations and matchmaking results are subjective guidance based on user-supplied data and weather conditions. They are not professional or medical advice. We do not guarantee that any recommendation will be suitable for you, and we are not liable for purchasing decisions made on the basis of a recommendation.

7. Intellectual property

The ScentCast name, logo, app icon, design, and all content we author are owned by ScentCast. Fragrance names, brands, and product imagery are the property of their respective rights holders and are used for editorial / informational purposes.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App and website are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScentCast shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection laws.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time — in-app via Profile → Delete Account, or on the website at getscentcast.com/delete-account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the App evolves. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence apply.
